Guthrie Junior High School Students and Parents,

Welcome to the 2023-2024 school year at Guthrie Junior High School. This year will likely be exciting and eventful, as well as a challenging test for all of us. Our school’s mission this year is to maintain a collaborative environment that is as stable and supportive as possible for students, teachers, and our community partners.

This is my fourth year as Assistant Principal for GJHS, following five years of service within the Guthrie School District as a teacher of sixth-grade Geography at Guthrie Upper Elementary. Before that, I worked with at-risk youth at Guthrie Job Corps as a GED teacher for ten years.  

I grew up in Guthrie and graduated from GHS in 1993. I earned my undergraduate degree, a Bachelor’s in History, from the University of Central Oklahoma. I received my M.Ed. in Educational Leadership from Southern Nazarene University in 2014.  

During my free time, I enjoy hunting, running, and being outdoors. I believe Guthrie is a great place to live and raise a family. My goal as Assistant Principal is to be an integral part of each GJHS student’s educational journey and to do what I can to make their educational experience meaningful and purposeful so they can go on to be successful at high school and beyond.
