A New Beginning

A wonderful, exciting new school year is about to begin! I am truly honored to be one of your student’s teachers, and as always I am looking forward to a new year. A new start, a new endeavor for all involved. Check out the 2021-2022 Class Policies & Procedures and be sure to download, print, or bookmark the Supply List!

We will be utilizing online videos and assignments on a regular basis. Please be sure that you have access to a laptop, tablet, or computer as well as access to a  reliable internet connection.

About Me

My course of study in mathematics was completed at the University of Central Oklahoma. I have 27+ years of experience in finance and teaching. I am certified to teach remedial math through Calculus AP, Applied Mathematics, Statistics, and Computer Applications. I know this makes me an extreme geek; however, I actually love what I do! I really enjoying teaching, watching students grow & facilitating their deeper understanding.

I was born & bred in Oklahoma. Although living in the Bahamas, Caribbean, Hawaii, and Florida are all very tempting I have never lived outside this beautiful state's borders.

I married a Guthrie-born, and Bluejay-bred man named David Fields that I met right here in Guthrie, at the Logan County Stock Spring Stock Shows, when I was only 15 years old. He is truly the love of my life. My best friend. My soul mate.

We currently live on 160 acres west of town. We have cattle, guineas, and chickens. On occasions, the farm also has geese, ducks, and pigs. We cannot seem to keep cats around, especially my favorite ones. We do, however, have a dog. We are down from three dogs to just one.

Our youngest son is Alex. Alex graduated from Guthrie in 2018. He was actively involved in Bluejay Wrestling and OK USA wrestling. He eats(well not so much), sleeps, and breathes wrestling. Alex has had and continues to have many wrestling opportunities thanks to Bluejay Coach, Jay Howard, and many other influential men from OWA and other wrestling organizations. For four years, Alex had the privilege of wrestling for the USA Wrestling Oklahoma Outlaws. He has won the National Title & All-American 2016, 2017 & 2018 at Brute (Adidas) Nationals. In 2017 he was one of two Oklahoma Outlaws named to the All-tournament Team at National Duals, 2018 he was the 113-pound Class 5-A West Regional Champion & State Runner-up. This year Alex will be a Junior in College.  He will always be a Bluejay; however, he is now becoming a Cumberland Phoenix in Lebanon, Tennessee.

Lathan is our oldest son & has a beautiful little girl, Abby Dawn. Lathan and his family live in Edmond. Miss Abby makes all our hearts happy. She knew almost all of her Uncle Alex's teammates by name. She even managed to dub Coach Jay Howard as "BlueJay."

Most all my activities are family involved. I take all sorts of photographs of the wrestlers (especially Alex...imagine that), including OK USA wrestling. As a family, we fish, ride motorcycles, dirt bikes, four-wheelers, fish, shoot guns (& bows) & travel. I love my family.

I enjoy life to the fullest - Well as best as I can. I have a page of Tidbits, sayings I have, or things I think, silliness really, just something I added to share with you, something for you to "see" a little more of “me." These Tidbits are updated from time to time, while the most recent or ones I deem important are at the beginning
