T. Kyle Brede 

Senior Army Instructor

My name is T. Kyle Brede and I am the Senior Army Instructor for the Guthrie JROTC program. I'm in my 3d year at GHS after serving 30 years in the Army as both an enlisted soldier, officer and Army Aviator. I served as the Professor of Military Science (Army ROTC) at the University of Oklahoma prior to retiring from active duty in 2018. After retiring from the military, I spent two years as a commercial airline pilot with United Express.

I have a Master of Arts in Educational Administration from the University of Louisville, a Master of Arts in International Relations from Webster University and a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and History from Tarleton State University. I’ve been married to my wife, Krista, for 32 years and we have three boys. My hobbies are road biking, hiking, golf, and fishing.

I instruct classes in all academic levels (Freshman through Juniors) and I’m the primary instructor for the Seniors. Freshman cadets earn dual credit in the Fall for Career Choices. Juniors earn dual credit for Speech Communication (Fine Arts) and Seniors earn dual credit for Personal Finance Literacy. 

I also coach the Physical Fitness (PT), Robotics and Rifle Teams.  Team practices: Physical Fitness is M-W-F at 7:30 a.m. and 3:15 p.m. Robotics is a competition class (6th Hour) and Rifle Team is a competition class (7th Hour).
