Welcome GUES Bluejays!
My name is Belinda Stone; I am the school counselor at GUES. Education is still my passion even after 37 years. All but two of the years have been in Guthrie. My husband, Bret is the discipline administrator at GHS. I inherited 3 great children when marrying Bret and we have one son together named Brayden. Brayden is in his first year of teaching at GHS and is the head football coach for the Guthrie Junior High. I guess you could say that education is a calling in our family as there are 19 family members that are educators.
As a school counselor, my primary responsibility is to promote the academic, social/emotional development of all students.
Services provided:
short-term individual counseling
small groups
refer students to outside agencies if needed
collaborate with teachers and staff
awareness and education on bullying
CONFIDENTIALITY is paramount to counseling. I always assure the student that what is said in my office stays in the office and will not be shared without permission. The only times I would break confidentiality is if a student were threatening to hurt themselves or others, or if someone is hurting the student.
