Welcome to the 1st Grade!
My name is Dixie Shaffer and this is my 23nd year to teach 1st grade in Guthrie. I taught 2 years in OKC before coming back home to teach in the district where I grew up and graduated. I love teaching at Charter Oak Elementary!
I have been married to Randy for 29 years and we have a 27 year old daughter Bailey. Bailey graduated from Arkansas Tech University in 2019, where she played softball and studied Rehab Science and Psychology. She recently completed her Master's Degree in Education at the University of Central Arkansas. She is the elementary PE teacher and coached softball and volleyball in Lavaca, Arkansas.
Randy and I have 4 dogs (rescue dogs have my heart), 2 cats and several chickens. We spend our weekends watching college football (Go Pokes!) and helping raise Red Angus on my parent's farm. We enjoy riding our mountain bikes, camping and fishing.
