Hello! This is my NINTH year as a Guthrie Bluejay! I have been teaching a total of 12 years. I taught third grade in Guthrie for 6 years and this is my third year as a reading intervention teacher. I love teaching and working with children. Outside of school, I enjoy gardening, reading, baking, sewing, listening to and playing music, and watching Doctor Who (or anything sci-fi). I attended high school at Edmond Santa Fe and got my teaching degree from the University of Central Oklahoma in 2013. I currently live in Stillwater. I have enjoyed working in Guthrie so much. It has become like a second home to me. As reading interventionist, I will be in contact with your child's homeroom teacher regarding their reading skills and growth. Please feel free to contact me directly with any questions you may have. I meet with small groups of students for about 30 minutes daily to gain and strengthen the skills they need to become successful readers. I strongly encourage reading at home with your child. Statistics prove that simply reading at home for 20 minutes a night can have a significant impact on a child's reading progress. Please do not hesitate to contact me if you have any questions or concerns about your child's reading progress. I am available by phone or email. I try to respond quickly. I'm looking forward to another wonderful school year!!
